These terms summarise how we work. The signed contract you receive with your quote sets out the full terms for your project and prevails if there is any difference.

1. About us and our licence

Plaza Works Pty Ltd is a Brisbane and Gold Coast company providing renovations, drainage and plumbing for homes and businesses. We hold QBCC Licence 15535375: Builder – Low Rise (Building Code of Australia classes 1, 2 and 10, buildings up to two storeys) and Plumbing and Drainage (trade contractor). We only perform work within the scope of our licence; anything outside it is referred to an appropriately licensed contractor.

2. Quotes and pricing

Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. All prices are set out in your quote. If extra work is discovered during the job (for example hidden damage), we stop, tell you, and provide a written variation quote for your approval before continuing. Prices are in Australian dollars.

3. Payments and deposit protection

Deposits are limited by Queensland law: a maximum of 10% for contracts under $20,000, and 5% for contracts of $20,000 or more (20% only where off-site work exceeds half the contract value).

4. Warranties

In addition to the statutory warranties under Schedule 1B of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 (structural defects 6 years, other defects 1 year) and the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme (contracts of $20,000 or more), Plaza Works warrants its own labour and installation: structural defects, including any waterproofing failure that lets water penetrate, for 7 years; non-structural and cosmetic items such as grout, silicone, finishes and fixture-fitting, for 1 year, from Practical Completion. Materials and fixtures are covered by their manufacturer warranties. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, poor maintenance, or customer-supplied materials.

5. Insurance and liability

We hold $10 million public liability insurance and workers compensation cover. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or pre-existing conditions not caused by our work. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

6. Your responsibilities

Please provide safe access to the work area, disclose known hazards or pre-existing issues, secure pets during visits, and give accurate information about your property.

7. Bookings, cancellations and rescheduling

We work Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 15:30. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 48 hours notice. A cancellation fee may apply at our discretion where less notice is given. We understand plans change and will always try to accommodate you.

8. Health and safety

All work is carried out to the relevant Australian Standards and Queensland building codes. We may pause work if a site is unsafe. If asbestos or other hazardous material is found, work pauses until it is safely handled by a qualified specialist.

9. Disputes

Please contact us first so we can put things right. For unresolved building-work disputes you may contact the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC). These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in your signed contract applies to your project.
