Hot water
No hot water, rusty water, or a tank leaking into the yard. We replace electric systems like for like at a published fixed price, and repair the valves when a full replacement is not needed.

A change of position, size or fuel type is quoted separately after we look at it, not sold at the replacement price.
We do not do gas hot water. Our licence covers plumbing and drainage, not gas fitting. If you have a gas system, we will point you to a licensed gas fitter rather than take the job. If you are switching from gas to electric, that is a change of fuel type and needs its own quote.
Repair or replace?
It is worth asking, and we will tell you straight.
- Worth repairing: a leaking or dripping relief valve, a failed tempering valve, or a thermostat or element on a tank that is otherwise sound and not too old.
- Not worth repairing: a tank that has rusted through and is leaking from the body. Once the cylinder goes, a repair is money down the drain.
- Worth thinking about: a tank over about ten years old that has already needed one repair. The next one usually is not far away.
Signs your system is on the way out
- Water running rusty or brown when you first turn the hot tap on
- Water pooling under or around the tank
- Hot water running out much faster than it used to
- Banging or rumbling from the tank as it heats
- The relief valve dripping constantly rather than occasionally

Usually within a day or two of your call, and the replacement itself takes about half a day. We work Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 15:30.
Because you can hold us to it. Local operators have been publicly criticised for $4,000 to $5,000 quotes on jobs like this. Ours is $3,200 and it is on the website.
Yes, but a size change is not the like-for-like price. We quote it separately once we know the space and the power supply.
Usually, though a position change means new pipework and sometimes new wiring, so it is quoted on its own.
