Blocked drains
Cleared properly, with a camera down the line afterwards so you know what caused it and whether it will happen again.
What it costs
| Job | Price (inc GST) | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Blocked drain, minor | from $300 | Cleared with an air gun or plunger. Attendance and the first hour are included. |
| Blocked drain, high-pressure jetting | from $500 | High-pressure jetter plus a camera down the line. Attendance and the first hour are included. |
| Each extra 30 minutes | $90 | Only where the blockage needs more time than the first hour. |
| CCTV drain inspection on its own | $400 | Camera run through the line with verbal findings. Credited back if you proceed with the recommended fix. |
| Drain pipe repair | $2,200 | Where the camera shows a cracked or collapsed section that needs digging up and replacing. |
Jetting already includes a camera inspection, so we never charge a separate CCTV on a jetting job.
Why we always look with a camera
Clearing a blockage takes the symptom away. It does not tell you why it happened. Tree roots, a collapsed section, a belly in the pipe or a bad connection will all block again, usually within months.
So we run the camera afterwards and tell you what we found. Sometimes the answer is that it was just a build-up and there is nothing more to do. Sometimes it is a broken pipe and you would rather know now than in six months.
What causes most blockages
- Tree roots finding a joint or a crack and growing into it. The most common cause we see.
- Wet wipes and cleaning wipes. They do not break down, whatever the packet says.
- Fat and food waste in the kitchen line, which sets hard as it cools.
- A collapsed or misaligned section, often in older clay pipes.
- A belly in the line, where the pipe has sagged and waste sits in it instead of running through.
Signs it is more than a one-off
- The same drain blocking again every few months
- Gurgling from a toilet or floor waste when a different fixture drains
- More than one fixture running slowly at the same time
- A wet or sunken patch of lawn over the drain line
- A smell outside near the gully
Common questions
We work Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 15:30, and we fit urgent jobs into that where we can. We do not advertise a 24/7 service, because we would rather tell you the truth about when we can get there.
It covers attendance and the first hour, which clears most minor blockages. If it needs jetting or longer, we tell you the price before we keep going, not after.
Not a sound pipe. If a pipe is already cracked or collapsed the camera will show it, and jetting is not the right fix for that anyway.
Yes, both. If the stormwater keeps blocking it usually points to a drainage problem rather than a blockage. See stormwater drainage.
Yes. Cafes, restaurants and facilities with grease-heavy lines are regular work for us. See our commercial page.
